how does hypnosis work?
Hypnosis works on a basis of lowering the human brains' protective barriers to influence the actions of the target. To lower the brains protective barrier you could use a classic swirling spiral that makes the target dizzy in the head. Being dizzy stops you concentrating, you are still fully awake and aware of your surroundings. Other ways could be to tell people to close their eyes and listen carefully to what you say. no matter what you say the tone you say it in is most important, it must be relaxed and extremely calming or the patient will feel alert.
During hypnosis there are six stages, the first three of which are light hypnosis and the last three are extremely deep hypnosis, which can be used for operation and childbirth to eradicate all pain.
The six levels of hypnosis are:
Level 1: Hypnodial
At light hypnosis you may have a feeling of fatigue, heavy muscles and relaxed nerves. Thoughts will occasionally wander and drowsiness will occur though you will still be fully conscious of your surroundings.
Level 2: Light Hypnosis
During light hypnosis your muscles will respond to suggestions. your eyes will roll back in your head but you will not be sleeping, still you will be fully aware of surroundings. Your mind will be mostly concentrated on suggestions given to you by the hypnotist.
Level 3: Medium Hypnosis
During Medium hypnosis you would be deeply relaxed. if you tried to rise from the chair that you were sitting on you could not unless you were asked to do so. along with this you will not be able to speak without being asked to do so.
Level 4: Deep Hypnosis
When you 'wake up' from your state of hypnosis partial amnesia may occur. It may be suggested that you will not feel pain any more as well as increased sensory awareness.
Level 5: Somnambulism
It is possible that you will have complete amnesia and anaesthesia upon 'awakening' and positive hallucinations. You may as an adult have flashbacks of your childhood and/or distant memories.
Level 6: Profound Somnambulism
The Effects of this include those of normal Somnambulism but you would be able to get negative hallucinations like removal of recorded information. After 'waking up' from your hypnosis, suggestions made during the session of hypnosis may be carried out as commands afterwards.
each level may take longer to get to during a session, and each level may require a more experienced hypnotist.
